Your Role

As a Sales Engineer High Pressure & Gas Applications, you will be responsible for market development and growth of our high-pressure business throughout Switzerland. With your technical expertise and sales capabilities, you will support existing customers, develop new applications and business opportunities, and manage complex customer projects from initial needs analysis through to successful contract closure. You will oversee a strategically important growth market and work closely with international business lines, product companies, and local service organizations. In this role, you will contribute to strengthening our market position in future-oriented sectors such as hydrogen, biogas, CNG, and industrial gases. You will also be responsible for:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities while sustainably expanding existing customer relationships
  • Providing technical consulting and support to customers, engineering firms, plant manufacturers, and internal sales and service teams
  • Designing, calculating, and technically reviewing quotations, projects, and customized plant solutions
  • Selling high-pressure compressors and system solutions for air, nitrogen, industrial gases, biogas, CNG, and hydrogen applications
  • Promoting the full Atlas Copco high-pressure portfolio, including new equipment, system solutions, spare parts, and service offerings
  • Proactively developing the market and strengthening our position in the hydrogen, biogas, energy, and industrial sectors
  • Conducting customer training sessions, product presentations, and sales promotion activities
  • Analyzing market, competitive, and sales data to identify new business opportunities and further develop the business area
  • Building and maintaining a strong network of end customers, engineering companies, plant manufacturers, utility providers, consulting firms, and other market participants
  • Collaborating closely with service teams, project management, product specialists, and international business units
  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction while monitoring and improving key business performance indicators

 

To Succeed in This Role, You Need

  • A technical qualification at HF/FH level or a completed engineering degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, process engineering, energy engineering, or plant engineering
  • Several years of experience in technical sales of complex capital equipment, plants, or system solutions
  • Strong knowledge and practical sales experience in high-pressure gas compression as well as an existing network within the biogas, CNG, hydrogen, industrial gases, or energy sectors would be advantageous
  • Ideally, an established network among end customers, engineering companies, plant manufacturers, utility providers, or other stakeholders in the Swiss gas and energy market
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with confidence in quotation preparation and contract negotiations
  • Excellent negotiation skills, strong customer focus, and a proven ability to close deals
  • Outstanding communication skills, professional presence, and a passion for building long-term customer relationships
  • A self-driven, structured, and goal-oriented working style, along with a willingness to travel extensively throughout Switzerland
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and digital sales tools
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken; French is an advantage

Location

You will work flexibly from home while regularly visiting customers and projects throughout Switzerland. Your close connection to the market will enable you to identify new business opportunities, develop long-term customer relationships, and actively contribute to the continued growth of our high-pressure business.
