Your role
The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a workshop and service partners ensuring the efficient and safe performance of mechanical and electrical technicians. This role involves planning, scheduling, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Workshop Manager is a hands-on leader who balances technical expertise with strong team management and operational planning skills. You will play a key role in enhancing our operational capabilities and driving business success. You will report to the Operations Manager - Steam Turnaround.
You will
- Plan and prioritize daily activities, repair schedules, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion of projects
- Coordinate the allocation of resources, including manpower, tools, and equipment to meet operational needs
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of skilled technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance the skills and performance of team members
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address performance issues promptly
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory standards
- Conduct routine safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks
- Monitor work quality to ensure repairs and maintenance meet required standards
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring availability while minimizing costs
- Liaise with internal customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on job progress and timelines

- You have a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience in a workshop environment, supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including maintenance and repair practices
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Proficiency in workshop management software and tools
- Certifications (Preferred)
- Relevant trade certifications in mechanical or electrical fields
- Health and Safety Certification (e.g.. OSHA, NEBOSH)
Work Environment
- Workshop-based role with exposure to industrial equipment and machinery
- Requires occasional physical effort, including standing, lifting and using hand tools
- Will involve monthly travel to customer sites, supplier locations and/or service partners

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 USD, DOE.
