Your role

We are seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer to support service excellence through the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Field Service Standard Operating Procedures and related technical documentation.The role will focus on the Field service SOP and related technical documentation activities at Business Area level.

The ideal candidate to translate practical field-service knowledge into clear, accurate and user-focused technical documentation while working effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

• Create, update and maintain Field Service SOPs (FSSOPs) and other technical documentation using appropriate authoring tools.
• Translate field-service practices, engineering information and product knowledge into clear and executable service procedures.
• Collect, evaluate and validate technical inputs including 3D models, BOMs, service data and product information.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Service, Product Management, Business Areas and external vendors to resolve technical queries and ensure completeness of inputs.
• Develop strong knowledge of vacuum products, service processes, configurations and field-service requirements.
• Plan and prioritize multiple requests based on customer requirements, business priorities and committed delivery dates.
• Execute FSSOP activities according to Atlas Copco group standards, work instructions, checklists and quality requirements.
• Review documentation for technical accuracy, completeness, usability and consistency.
• Track job requests and ensure adherence to lead time, quality and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect inputs, clarify requirements, provide status updates and incorporate feedback.
• Support Product Database requests and related Business Area activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation quality, processes, productivity and turnaround time.
• Coordinate and control work delivered by external agencies, both onsite and offshore.
• Support unanticipated technical documentation requirements and project deliverables.
• Explore and apply AI and automation to improve existing documentation workflows and productivity.

To succeed, you will need

What we are looking for

• 2-3 years of experience in field service, service engineering, technical documentation or a related engineering function.
• Experience in the vacuum business / vacuum equipment / industrial machinery is highly desirable.
• Practical understanding of field-service activities, maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings, BOMs, 3D models and technical specifications.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and delivery commitments.
• Experience with technical authoring tools, PLM/ERP or product databases is an advantage.
• Exposure to AI, automation or digital documentation solutions is an added advantage.
