Job Description

 

Job TItle: Engineer_Project (Temporary / 1-year contract)

Business Unit: Compressor Technique (CT)

Division: Oil Free Air (OFA)

Report to: Manager_Project

Location: Pangyo

 

[Purpose of this Job]

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the technical and commercial execution of projects from order intake through final handover.
  • The role serves as the primary coordinator among customers, suppliers, production centers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while meeting contractual requirements, quality standards, budget targets, and project schedules.

 

[Duties&Responsibility]

1. Project Management

  • Conduct project kick-off meetings and establish execution plans.
  • Review contractual and technical requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules.
  • Manage project budget, costs, and profitability.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Manage customer requirements, variations, and scope changes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and deliverables.

2. Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and control engineering activities.
  • Manage document submissions and approval processes.
  • Review and approve vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate technical discussions with customers and suppliers.
  • Resolve engineering issues during project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

3. Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers and production centers regarding project schedules.
  • Monitor procurement and manufacturing progress.
  • Manage supplier technical clarifications and document submissions.
  • Resolve supplier-related delays and quality issues.
  • Support supplier performance evaluation and continuous improvement.

4. Manufacturing & Delivery Management

  • Monitor manufacturing status and production milestones.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules and logistics activities.
  • Manage delivery commitments and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate transportation and export requirements when applicable.
  • Support customs and logistics documentation activities.

5. FAT & Inspection Management

  • Plan and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Support customer and third-party inspections.
  • Manage FAT punch lists and follow-up actions.
  • Review inspection reports and corrective actions.
  • Secure shipment release approval.

6. Installation & Site Execution Support

  • Support installation planning and execution.
  • Coordinate activities with site engineers, contractors, and customers.
  • Monitor installation progress and site issues.
  • Provide technical support during installation activities.
  • Escalate critical project execution issues when required.

7. Commissioning & Start-Up Support

  • Coordinate commissioning schedules and resources.
  • Liaise with CTS, service teams, and commissioning engineers.
  • Support troubleshooting and technical issue resolution.
  • Coordinate performance testing and customer acceptance activities.
  • Manage project handover to customers and service teams.

8. Documentation & Commercial Control

  • Maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare project status and progress reports.
  • Manage milestone invoicing and payment follow-up.
  • Process and manage change orders.
  • Prepare final documentation packages.
  • Submit as-built documentation and close-out reports.

9. Project Milestone & Commercial Support

  • Monitor and track key project milestones throughout project execution.
  • Verify contractual milestones such as delivery completion, installation completion, site acceptance, and handover.
  • Support timely Revenue Recognition and Order Intake realization by securing required supporting documents.
  • Obtain customer acceptance certificates and project completion records.
  • Support invoice issuance by coordinating required documentation with internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up customer invoice submission and approval status.
  • Assist in minimizing unbilled revenue and collection risks.

 

[Qualifications]

1. Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project engineering, project management, or project execution.
  • Experience in industrial equipment, utilities, or process systems.
  • Experience with compressors, dryers, nitrogen generators, or packaged systems is preferred.

2. Knowledge/Skill

  • Strong project planning and scheduling capability.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and technical specifications.
  • Ability to read P&ID, layout drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
