Your role
Your mission will be to grow our Capital Equipment business by developing strong, long-term customer relationships and positioning Atlas Copco as a trusted compressed air solutions partner. You will take ownership of opportunities from initial identification and technical discovery through solution development, quotation, commercial negotiation and successful conclusion.
Rather than leading purely on price, you will understand the customer’s operation and demonstrate the value of selecting the right solution for the application. You will develop a deep understanding of your market, customers, competitors and future opportunities while maintaining a disciplined approach to territory and opportunity management.
You will be expected to understand the customer’s application and act as a trusted technical consultant, helping customers determine the most appropriate compressed air solution for their operation.

• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of short, medium and long-term opportunities.
• Develop opportunities from initial prospecting through to final order.
• Prepare professional technical and commercial proposals and lead customer negotiations.
• Maintain a clear understanding of competitor activity and market developments.
• Build strong relationships at multiple levels within customer organisations.
• Maintain regular customer contact through a structured programme of field visits.
• Support wider UK & Ireland opportunities where required.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for an experienced salesperson who combines commercial drive with genuine technical credibility. Ideally, you will bring:
- Approximately 8-10 years of successful sales experience, preferably involving capital equipment, engineered products or complex technical solutions.
- A strong technical understanding and the ability to learn sophisticated engineering products and applications.
- Experience developing significant customer relationships over extended sales cycles.
- The confidence to discuss both technical and commercial subjects with customers.
- A consultative approach to selling, supported by strong business development and prospecting skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- A structured approach to territory, pipeline and opportunity management.
- Confidence working independently while remaining an active member of a wider team.
- Strong IT skills and confidence working with modern CRM, communication and productivity tools.
- Good analytical and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership
- Professional and credible in front of customers.
- Motivated by solving customer problems
- A willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory and, where necessary, nationally.
Experience within compressed air, construction equipment, industrial equipment, process industries, drilling, rental, utilities, manufacturing, energy or other technically demanding capital-equipment environments would be particularly relevant.
Your compensation and benefits
We offer compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and responsibilities of the role. Pay also depends on the country where the job role is based, as compensation practices vary across our markets. During the recruitment process, we share clear information about the pay and benefits for your location, so you know what to expect before moving forward.
Your location
Your primary territory will be the South of England, although national travel across the UK may be required to support customers, projects, exhibitions, demonstrations, training and strategic opportunities.
You will approach your territory as a business in its own right, maintaining a clear understanding of:
