Your role

As IT Architect within Power Technique IT, you help turn our architecture framework into something teams actually use. You apply the methodology and standards set within PT Enterprise Architecture in day-to-day initiatives, and you make architectural work visible across a decentralized organization.

Your focus sits on two things. First, you drive our application landscape and technology management agenda: mapping the landscape, spotting overlap and end-of-life risk, and keeping the picture of where our technology stands accurate and current. Second, you build a community for IT solution architects, preparing and facilitating architecture workshops and PT IT Architecture sessions, and making sure the right stakeholders are in the room with the right information.

You work under the guidance of the Manager Architecture, Resilience and IT Integration, who leads PT Enterprise Architecture and acts as your sponsor in this role. You act as a coach towards IT profiles in the different delivery teams around the word. The role is non-authoritative by design: you influence through preparation, clarity and credibility rather than through mandate.

What do we expect of you?

Application Landscape and Technology Management

As part of this role, you will maintain an accurate picture of the Power Technique application landscape while ensuring that architectural data within our EA tooling remains current, reliable and trustworthy. You will analyse the portfolio for redundancy, technical debt, lifecycle risks and costs, translating your findings into concrete rationalization proposals. In addition, you will take ownership of the architecture guidelines, regularly reviewing them and identifying improvements whenever and wherever they are needed. You will also track the progress of agreed initiatives and proactively flag any drift at an early stage, enabling decisions to be made while changes can still be addressed efficiently and at a relatively low cost.

Facilitation, Community and Stakeholder Communication

You will prepare, facilitate and document architecture workshops and architecture sessions, including agendas, decision materials, meeting minutes and follow-up actions. A key part of the role is to build and sustain a community of IT architects across Power Technique, creating opportunities for them to exchange knowledge, align on design questions and learn from one another. By bringing together input from domain and solution architects, you will help create a coherent story that PT Enterprise Architecture, portfolio managers and business stakeholders can act upon. You will communicate architectural choices and their consequences clearly to a variety of audiences, ranging from delivery teams to IT leadership. Furthermore, you will represent Power Technique architecture topics in cross-division and Group IT forums, initially alongside senior colleagues and increasingly in an independent capacity.

Contributing to the Wider Architecture Practice

You will contribute to our architecture principles, standards, guidelines and best practices, helping to maintain a consistent reference architecture across the organization. You will support the identification and follow-up of architectural risks at the business area level and remain curious about emerging technologies, bringing relevant insights and learnings back into the organization. While you will not be expected to own the full end-to-end architectural direction from day one, you will be expected to grow into that responsibility over time, supported by coaching, exposure and honest feedback to help make that progression successful.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with roughly 2 to 5 years in architecture, solution design, or a comparable IT role.
• Experience in a global corporate or industrial/manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Working familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and tooling such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, LeanIX or Ardoq. You don't need to be certified, you do need to be able to model and maintain a landscape properly.
• Comfort with application portfolio analysis and the discipline to keep architectural data accurate over time.
• A solid grasp of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and of how Agile/DevOps teams actually work.
• Awareness of data products, AI in business processes, and data governance, security and privacy-by-design principles, enough to ask the right questions and know when to pull in an expert.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at Airpower in Wilrijk, Belgium (BE).
