Your role
As a Senior Backend Developer (.NET/C#) (m/f/d), your mission is to you’ll play a key role in designing and implementing scalable backend systems and microservices that power our next-generation industrial solutions. You will report to the Team Leader R&D, Error Proofing Solutions. The role is temporary and offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.
You will
- Work closely with colleagues locally and globally throughout the full development lifecycle—from requirements and implementation to releasing production‑ready features
- Implement robust and maintainable backend services in C#/.NET
- Contribute to the design and evolution of our distributed microservices architecture; experience with cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker), and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is beneficial
- Develop solutions used across industries to support assembly processes, quality control, and error prevention—your work may empower customers to build the next smartphone or car
- Design and implement secure-by-design backend services and APIs, considering cybersecurity best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Deliver high-quality backend services and microservices with a focus on clean, scalable, and maintainable code
- Drive architectural discussions and contribute to long-term technical direction and platform evolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Ensure application performance, stability, and reusability across components and services
- Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, and maintainability requirements throughout the software lifecycle
To succeed, you will need
- A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications using C#/.NET
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed architectures, and message-based communication
- Solid understanding of application security, secure coding practices, authentication and authorization mechanisms, API security, and vulnerability mitigation
- A strong understanding of clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, and reusable components
- English language proficiency; German is a plus
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working in agile teams

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our premises in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany (DE).
