Your Role
Atlas Copco BLM is part of the Atlas Copco Group and develops advanced technologies and solutions for industrial assembly. At our Paderno Dugnano site, engineering expertise and customer focus come together to support reliable, efficient and increasingly connected production processes.
Our cross-functional R&D organization brings together mechanical engineering, electronics, firmware, software and validation to transform customer needs into robust mechanical and mechatronic solutions through design, prototyping and testing.
We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join this collaborative environment within our R&D Mechanical Engineering team in Paderno Dugnano, Italy.
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the development and improvement of mechanical and mechatronic products, working alongside experienced engineers and progressively building your technical knowledge and autonomy.
You will have the opportunity to:
- contribute to concept studies, pre-studies and product development projects;
- develop and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies and 2D drawings;
- apply mechanical engineering principles to real product-development challenges;
- contribute to the integration between mechanics and electronics;
- participate in prototype building, design reviews and technical problem-solving;
- work closely with our Validation Laboratory, supporting verification activities and learning how design requirements are translated into physical tests;
- collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing and other functions throughout the product-development process;
- contribute to product improvements, engineering changes and continuous improvement activities.
Your skills and experience
You have a Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Naval Engineering, or an equivalent five-year engineering degree.
You have 1–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, product development or a closely related technical field.
You bring a solid foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals such as mechanics, materials, manufacturing processes, tolerancing, machine elements and basic stress analysis.
Knowledge of parametric 3D CAD is important. Experience with Creo is an advantage, while familiarity with PDM/PLM systems, FEM/FEA, Windchill or SAP is considered a plus.
We are particularly interested in your curiosity and willingness to learn. Relevant internships, thesis projects, Formula Student, laboratory, prototyping or product-development experience can therefore be valuable.
A good command of English is important, as you will work in an international environment. Fluency in Italian, both written and spoken, is required.
Why it is great to work with us
How we work

We also expect people to take ownership of their assignments, communicate risks early and follow commitments through to completion.
These behaviors are how we bring our values Collaborate, Innovate and Commit into our everyday work.
What you can expect
This is a Junior Mechanical Engineer position designed for someone who wants to grow as an engineer while contributing to real product-development activities from the beginning.
You will work with experienced colleagues, learn our products and development processes, and progressively take greater responsibility for your technical activities.
If you are passionate about advanced mechanical engineering, technology and product development and want to grow in an international R&D environment, we would be happy to hear from you.
