Job Description

Mission:

The mission of the Logistics Team Leader is to lead and develop the outbound logistics operations of Product Company Padova, ensuring excellence in People, Logistics, Quality, SHE and Customer Satisfaction. The Team Leader is responsible for reliable and timely shipment execution, the continuous improvement and simplification of shipping processes and the progressive integration of additional Customer Centers into the operating model. The role, in cooperation with the relevant company functions, develops, negotiates and manages transport agreements and service conditions. By driving digitalization, standardization and operational excellence, the Team Leader supports a high-performing organization, fostering a strong Safety First and Quality First culture and adapting the logistics setup to changing business needs.

The Role:

  • Lead, guide and develop the competencies of Outbound Team to achieve company goals, in agreement with the Manufacturing Manager
  • Take responsibility for the outbound logistics operations of the Product Company, embracing the vision of delivering quality on time and safely.
  • Lead the daily activities related to order follow-up, shipment planning, packing coordination, shipping documentation, finished-product handling and operational delivery execution.
  • Prepare and execute plans to achieve operational and strategic targets, translating priorities into clear actions for the team.
  • Implement measurable improvements in shipment management, including planning, consolidation, staging, carrier booking, documentation, tracking, escalation handling and shipment closure.
  • Drive digitalization and automation of logistics information and documentation flows, in coordination with the relevant internal functions and external partners.
  • Support the Integrate gration of additional Customer Centers, part of the group into the Product Company EDI connection, defining operational interfaces, responsibilities, data flows, service levels and implementation plans.
  • Support the Product Company in acting as a distribution center for Varisco Customer Center and for the spare-parts flow for Industry products, adapting and improving the setup when business needs change.
  • Develop, negotiate, implement and manage transport contracts, rate agreements and service-level conditions in cooperation with Purchasing, Finance and other involved functions.
  • Ensure a data-driven process by measuring and benchmarking logistics performance using key performance indicators related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, lead time, claims and customer service.
  • Prioritize customer care and delivery performance, ensuring efficient logistics flows that meet Customer Center and end-customer expectations and working closely with Planning and Production.
  • Create awareness about Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, fostering a strong Safety First and Quality First culture and maintaining clean, orderly and audit-ready working areas.
  • Promote cooperation and alignment with other Product Company functions, Customer Centers, divisions and external partners, sharing and adopting best practices to achieve high performance.

What we expect from our candidates:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Management,
  • Proven experience in manufacturing company (min 3 years)
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing or supply-chain operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment. (at least 3 years)
  • Proven experience in people management (at least 3 years)
  • Practical knowledge of outbound shipment processes and a sound understanding of inbound transportation flows.
  • Experience in carrier sourcing, transport tendering, rate negotiation, contract management and carrier performance management.
  • Proven Experience in process improvement projects, procedure simplification, standardization and digitalization (at least 3 years)
  • Knowledge of continuous-improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, 6S, structured problem solving or Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools; experience with SAP and data-analysis or reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Fluent spoken and written Italian and English are mandatory
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive and results-oriented leadership approach, with a strong focus on customer service and execution.

For this role, the successful candidate will be offered a permanent employment contract under the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, classified as a white-collar employee at Level B3. The compensation package includes a starting salary within the relevant pay range beginning at €43k gross per year, complemented by an individual variable compensation scheme, a company car, a fourteenth month's salary, and participation in the collective profit-sharing bonus program. 
In addition, employees benefit from a hybrid working model with flexible working hours. Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at Varisco S.r.l. Padova, Italy.
