Your role

Mission:

As a Project Engineer Upgrades, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative aftermarket products that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our global installed base. You will drive the product life cycle for Electrical Cubicles & Drives (OEM), from feasibility to final implementation, ensuring that our service offerings align with the latest technology advancements and meet the needs of our customers worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Own and execute Electrical components upgrade and replacement projects from feasibility study to final implementation.
• Evaluate technical suitability of alternative electrical components such as contactors, relays, circuit breakers, power supplies, terminals, protection devices, wiring components, and related cubicle items.
• Analyse field issues, customer requests, and supplier inputs to propose technically sound and cost-effective upgrade solutions.
• Support proactive projects related to product phase-out, new technology introduction, supplier changes, cost optimization, and spare part availability.
• Support OEM drives-related upgrade activities, drive retrofit instructions, BOM management, parameterization inputs, cubicle & wire harness requirements, and other technical documentation required for global roll-out.
• Prepare and update service diagrams, Integration of field problems and converting them into actionable instructions for global install base.
• Support electrical requirements of aftermarket products such as Energy recovery solutions, central controllers, connectivity modules, communication interfaces, and related upgrade packages.
• Ensure upgrade solutions are safe, service-friendly, compatible with existing machine designs, and practical for field installation.
• Support product life cycle management by ensuring continued availability of critical electrical components during the service life of installed machines.
• Work closely with purchasing, suppliers, technical support, product companies, marketing, and global customer centers to align alternative solutions with business and service needs.
• Contribute to standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of electrical upgrade processes, documentation, and component selection guidelines.

To succeed, you will need

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or relevant stream of engineering.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience in electrical design, aftermarket engineering, component selection, product development, or upgrade projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical cubicle components, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, component datasheets, and basic panel/cubicle design principles.
• Clear understanding of product life cycle management, especially how component availability, technology changes, vendor changes, and end-of-life decisions affect the installed base.
• Experience in identifying, comparing, validating, and releasing alternative electrical components for legacy machines or service applications.
• Experience with frequency drives, OEM drives, or drive-related upgrade projects.
• Ability to read and understand electrical documentation, supplier specifications, product standards, and service requirements.
• Hands on experience on Auto-Cad, Inventor, PLM would consider a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of compressor products, electrical systems, and aftermarket service requirements would be an added advantage.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to work in a global matrix organization

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Pune office.
