Job Description: Sourcing Support Engineer –Fabrication
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Sourcing Engineer / Buyer with expertise in Fabrication commodity. Position will be responsible for the procurement, development, and quality assurance of fabricated components, along with std. components. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality sourcing solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers, compare offers, support to negotiate prices, and choose the techno commercial best suitable suppliers.
- Handle the end-to-end development of fabrication parts, tracking project progress closely.
- Visit and assess suppliers to ensure they meet AC standards; conduct process and system audits.
- Investigate quality problems at supplier sites through regular visits and follow-ups on improvement actions.
- Should have strong knowledge of zero-based costing to estimate accurate product costs.
- Able to provide technical support to suppliers and internal teams as needed.
- Experience with VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects and supplier consolidation is a plus.
- Familiar with creating and managing tri-party agreements between buyer, supplier, and customer.
- Work with project managers to address current defects and avoid them in future products.
- Use your technical knowledge to test and improve the product.
To succeed, you will need
Educational requirements:
- University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical)
- Fluent in English
Knowledge:
• Strong technical skills in resolving quality-related challenges in fabrication
• Experienced in using ERP systems; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
• Exposure to engineered rotating equipment is an added benefit, along with working in service environment is a plus• Capable of planning and organizing tasks efficiently with an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Competent in handling multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to each.

Experience:
3-5 Years of hands-on experience as Fabrication buyer
Good know how of entire purchase to pay cycle.
Handling other commodities such as standard parts, castings is a plus

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Group in Pune, India (IN).
