Your role

We are looking for a Team Leader to join the DevOps team in Atlas Copco Group GECIA. This is a pivotal role within the engineering department, overseeing the DevOps and Azure Cloud teams. This individual will be responsible for steering the team towards operational excellence, fostering business growth, and providing technical guidance. The Team Leader ensures the seamless integration of DevOps processes and tools across cloud-based and on-premises environments.

    Technical Focus
    •Set the technical direction for the DevOps and Azure Cloud teams and ensure delivery commitments, quality and timelines are met.
    •Maintain a strong awareness of DevOps practices and tooling-CI/CD pipelines,infrastructure as code,automation,containerization and cloud services- sufficient to guide the team and challenge technical decisions;deep hands-on delivery sits with the team.
    •Ensure the team's proficiency in a wide range of DevOps tools and processes, both in cloud environments and on-premises setups like Jenkins,Docker, BitBucket,GIT,Artifactory,Azure and similar CI/CD(Open Source)tools.
    •Ensure engineering conventions, architectures and best practices are understood and followed, and that new conventions are introduced where they add value.
    •Sponsor feasibility studies and proof of concepts so that DevOps processes stay up to date with the latest best practices.
    •Provide direction and governance for secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions designed and built by the team.
    •Ensure quality standards are upheld through the team's code review, testing and release practices.
    •Act as the escalation point for technical issues, removing blockers and connecting the team with the right subject matter experts.
    •Drive business growth by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align DevOps strategies with organizational objectives.
    •Cultivate strong business relationships with stakeholders and share business and technical learnings with the broader dev and product organizations.

To succeed, you will need

Experience Requirements

• •You have a Computer Science/Engineering qualification (B.E. or B.Tech or MTech)from a reputed university.
  •The candidate needs to have at least 14 years of Industry experience.
  •Minimum 7 years of experience as a people manager/team leader, directly managing engineering,DevOps or cloud teams(hiring,performance management, coaching, competence development and retention).
  •Working knowledge and awareness of DevOps and Azure Cloud concepts, tools and processes- CI/CD,infrastructure as code,automation,containerization and orchestration.Hands-on delivery experience is not a requirement for this role; the ability to understand,guide and govern the work is.
  •Proven track record of attracting, developing and retaining technical talent,and of building subject matter experts within a team.
  •Excellent team management and leadership skills,with strong employee engagement and culture-building capability.
  •Ability to drive technical excellence, innovation and quality by enabling and guiding the team rather than through personal hands-on delivery.
  •Familiarity(awareness level)with open-source tooling such as Jenkins,Git,Artifactory,Chef,Terraform,Prometheus and Grafana,and with scripting languages such as Python and Shell/PowerShell.
  •Strong communication,stakeholder management and collaboration abilities.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Group in Pune, India (IN).
