Your role
As the Sales, Use and Property Tax Manager, you are responsible for overseeing U.S. and Canadian indirect tax compliance, U.S. personal property tax, and business license administration across a multi-entity environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, external tax advisors, and tax authorities to ensure accurate compliance, audit readiness, and effective tax technology management. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in sales and use tax, experience with SAP and Vertex O-Series, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements while partnering across the organization. You will report to the Vice President - Tax.
Indirect Tax Compliance
- Manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance through external service providers.
- Prepare and file Canadian indirect tax returns, including GST/HST, PST, and QST.
- Review, reconcile, and validate tax data, filings, payments, and related account balances.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for sales and use tax matters.
- Lead U.S. and Canadian sales tax audits and coordinate responses to tax authorities.
Tax Technology & Process Management
- Serve as the primary resource for Vertex O-Series, including configuration support, troubleshooting, and tax determination issues.
- Partner with IT and business teams to resolve system-related tax issues involving SAP and Vertex.
- Support new entity onboarding, tax automation initiatives, and process improvements.
- Manage exemption certificate compliance through Exemptax and related systems.
Property Tax & Business Licensing
- Oversee U.S. personal property tax compliance, filings, assessments, and payments in partnership with third-party providers.
- Manage business license registrations, renewals, and compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
- Maintain filing calendars and ensure timely completion of all tax and licensing obligations.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, AP, AR, and IT teams to support compliance and business initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, technology providers, and service partners.
- Support acquisitions, new business activities, audits, and other tax-related projects.
To succeed, you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in sales and use tax and/or property tax.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. indirect tax compliance and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Canadian GST/HST, PST, and QST requirements.
- Experience managing third-party tax providers and audits.
- Experience with SAP and Vertex O-Series.
- Advanced Excel, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- CPA, CMI, or other tax-related certification.
- Vertex O-Series Implementer Certification.
- Experience with Vertex Tax Assist, SAP tax integrations, and exemption certificate management systems.
- Manufacturing, multi-entity, or multinational environment experience.
- Experience with Anybill.

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our 1059 Paragon Way office in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
