Job Description

Your role

Join us as a Solution Architect- CSO within our Apps and Software Development team in Pune, where you will design and govern the architecture of enterprise solutions built on the Microsoft .NET and Azure stack.

You will shape solutions from idea to production: engaging with internal customers and stakeholders, translating business needs into robust, scalable architectures, and guiding delivery teams to implement them. You will work from the Atlas Copco Pune office, with the opportunity to architect and contribute to global projects.

As Solution Architect, you will define target architectures and roadmaps, set architecture principles and standards across teams, and bring modern capabilities such as AI into our solutions where they add value – ensuring secure, scalable, cost-efficient and “first time right” solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define target-state architectures and architecture roadmaps for the solutions in your portfolio, aligned with business, enterprise architecture and IT strategy.
  • Establish and govern architecture principles, reference architectures, reusable patterns and standards; run architecture review boards and design authority sessions.
  • Act as the architecture authority across multiple teams and projects: ensure consistent application of standards, seamless integration of components and alignment with enterprise platforms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies across the Microsoft ecosystem, including AI; lead proofs of concept, technology selection and build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Assess and manage architectural risks, technical debt, security, compliance and total cost of ownership across the solution lifecycle.
Solution Design (.NET and Microsoft Stack)
  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture of enterprise applications on the Microsoft stack – C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular/React front ends and Microsoft Azure.
  • Design modular, cloud-native architectures using microservices, clean architecture, Domain-Driven Design, event-driven patterns (Kafka / Azure Service Bus / Event Grid) and API-first design.
  • Select the right Azure services – App Service, Azure Functions, AKS/Container Apps, API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, Key Vault – for performance, security, reliability and cost efficiency, in line with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  • Define integration and data architecture with enterprise systems and platforms (e.g., ERP/CRM), including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform where relevant.
  • Define non-functional requirements and standards for security by design (OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, secrets management, OWASP), scalability, availability, observability (Application Insights/Azure Monitor) and performance.
  • Guide DevOps and platform practices on Azure DevOps/GitHub: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform), environment strategy, automated testing and quality gates.
  • Produce architecture artefacts – solution architecture documents, C4/UML diagrams, architecture decision records, non-functional requirements, high-level estimates and cost models – and lead design reviews.
  • Architect AI capabilities (e.g., Azure OpenAI, retrieval-augmented generation with Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, agents) into solutions where they add business value, with attention to security, cost and Responsible AI.
  • Work closely with Application Owners, product owners and technical leads to ensure the implemented solution matches the agreed architecture, from requirements through release and aftercare.
