Job Description: Sourcing Support Engineer – SQA
As a Sourcing Engineer; you are responsible for both the quality of the delivered parts from our suppliers and the quality of the production process of the suppliers of Atlas Copco Group Companies. You evaluate, control and optimize the production process of the suppliers, the management system and the product quality. This position requires many internal and external contacts as well as good technical and product knowledge.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Quality Assurance & Auditing
- Develop and implement audit templates (System/ Process) & conduct through quality audits
- Prepare part qualification plans and ensure compliance with standards.
- Drive end to end part development with “Right first time “*& “Process oriented” mindset
- Perform regular supplier audits and visits to verify parts against AC standards and drawing specifications.
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive corrective actions through agreed improvement plans.
- Review and validate quality specifications, technical design documents, and provide timely feedback.
2. Process & Quality Management
- Optimize supplier processes and product quality through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply process tools such as QAP (Quality Assurance Plan) and QAM (Quality Assurance Manual).
- Drive improvements using QIPs (Quality Improvement Plans) and monitor progress.
- Develop and maintain Skill Matrix System content for supplier capability assessment.
3. Supplier Development & Collaboration
- Manage complete development of fabrication parts with suppliers, including tooling development and quality maintenance.
- Ensure alignment with SQA–Purchase goals and foster strong cooperation between sourcing and quality teams.
- Communicate effectively with project managers regarding defects, preventive measures, and quality improvement strategies.
5. Quality Control & Documentation
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate quality testing activities based on production requirements.
- Identify, record, and document quality issues thoroughly and maintain accurate tracking systems.
- Apply technical expertise to evaluate product compliance and ensure adherence to design and quality standards.
To succeed, you will need
Educational requirements:
- University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical)
- Fluent in English
Knowledge:
- Technical expertise in solving quality related issues for fabrications, machining.
- All types of fabrication process.
- Sound Knowledge of patterns making, fabrication process and fabrication defects
- Good Command over ERP Systems, knowledge of SAP is added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. MS Word & MS Excel).
- Good Command (Verbal & Written) of English is must.
- Knowledge of Engineered rotatory equipment is added advantage.
- Plan & organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
- Able to work on multiple tasks by giving due importance to each task.

Experience:
3-5 Years of experience in Quality domain preferably having experience working with Fabrications, machining commodities

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Group in Pune, India (IN).
