As a Senior Development Engineer at Edwards Technologies Vacuum Engineering (Qingdao) Company Ltd, you will be at the forefront of innovative projects within the Industrial Vacuum Department of our esteemed Multibrand division. This position is crucial for driving advanced product development within the Vacuum Technique business area. You will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Your Purpose:
In this role, you will take engineering technical ownership for a range of products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring successful new development and providing ongoing technical support. Your objectives will include planning, leading, and executing product development projects that adhere to master specifications while ensuring compliance with agreed budgets and timelines. You will also be responsible for sustaining technical support to continuously improve product characteristics regarding performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities:

- Leading and managing all project activities from inception through to realization, including technical disposition, project status reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Identifying and resolving resource planning challenges affecting project timelines, while promoting efficient operations to keep projects on track.
- Creating comprehensive documentation of systems and solutions, ensuring diligent documentation practices for both internal and external communication.
- Guiding testing procedures, analyzing data to derive conclusions, and providing recommendations that drive product design iterations.
- Supporting complex analyses, improving existing products through collaboration and teamwork, and promoting a culture of innovation within the engineering team.
- Providing tailored technical support for various product ranges, ensuring a high level of satisfaction for both internal teams and customers post-launch.
- Encouraging cross-functional cooperation and facilitating a positive team atmosphere that fosters respect, communication, and equality.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards in your areas of responsibility, as per established company policies.
To Succeed, You Will Need:
Your background should include:
- Several years of experience in product development and/or technical support, particularly within the Leybold, Edwards, or Atlas Copco realms.
- A strong understanding of rotating machinery, liquid ring vacuum pump technology, and basic electrical concepts.
- A demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes, reliability testing, and new product introductions.
- Proficiency in key software tools, especially the MS Office Suite, and experience with FMEA and other risk management techniques.
- Analytical capabilities and familiarity with CAE modelling techniques.
- Solid project management skills, as you will oversee resource allocation, project timelines, and deliverable quality.
