Your role
The role involves taking the lead of a team of service planners who organise the day-to-day activities of our field service engineers. The successful individual will be responsible for guaranteeing efficient operations through ensuring all planned service requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the service planners across the business in UK & Ireland ensuring engineers and systems are utilised efficiently.
- Ensure all team members are trained on relevant platforms.
- Effectively manage the use of the SAP planning systems, ensuring they are utilised by the team effectively.
- Carry out day-to-day people management administrative tasks for the planning team, such as annual leave approvals and performance feedback appraisals.
- Set engineer’s work schedules in order to maximise efficiency and minimise non utilised hours.
- Liaise with customers by phone or e-mail to arrange and confirm the service visits and ensure they are fully aware of the work and the date the work is to be carried out.
- Be responsible for providing customers with all relevant risk assessment, method statements and engineer certification as required.
- Monitor and record the progress of all customer orders to guarantee work is fully completed, and any additional work is planned and completed in a timely fashion.
- To maintain all orders within SAP, confirming all work is correctly allocated so that quality reports can be gathered via SAP reporting facilities.
- To collate information from the Field Service Engineers to accurately record and maintain customer records and information.
- Regularly liaise with the Field Service Engineers, Service Sales Managers, Capital Sales Managers and internal departments to expedite customer requests.
To succeed, you will need
- Significant experience of working in business administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organising skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
- High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience of working with SAP and planning tools, however training will be provided.
The following requirements are desirable but would be deemed advantageous:
- Experience working with a sales-led organisation.
- Knowledge of the compressed air industry.
- Basic product knowledge, with a particular relevance on Atlas Copco group air compressors.
- Experience of working within a service environment.

Job location
This role is based at our Warrington Office.
