Job Description

Your role

Are you accurate, technically minded, and do you enjoy working together with colleagues to keep an entire production line running smoothly? Then the role of CNC Operator in our Scroll QRM production team at Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk may be the perfect opportunity for you.

As a CNC Operator, you are responsible for operating CNC-controlled machines and machining components according to established instructions, technical drawings, and quality requirements. You verify your work using the prescribed measuring equipment and ensure that each component is safely and correctly transferred to the next production step.

Your responsibility extends beyond your own machine. Within the team, you build knowledge of different machining operations and, in line with your training and competence level, support other tasks and process steps whenever production planning or line requirements demand it. You coordinate closely with colleagues before and after your process step, provide clear handovers, and proactively report any issues related to materials, quality, machine availability, or planning that could affect production flow.

Your day-to-day

  • You operate CNC-controlled machines in accordance with established work instructions and safety procedures.
  • You machine components based on technical drawings, work instructions, and product specifications.
  • You inspect dimensions and tolerances using the prescribed measuring equipment and quality tools.
  • You ensure that machined parts meet all quality requirements before proceeding to the next production step.
  • You provide clear handovers to colleagues and communicate proactively about production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns.
  • You support other relevant operations and process steps within the production line in accordance with your training and qualifications.
  • You contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waiting times, work-in-progress inventory, setup losses, and rework.
  • You help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.

Your skills and experience

  • You have a strong interest in technology, CNC machining, and manufacturing processes. Previous CNC operator experience is an advantage.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team while taking ownership of your own responsibilities.
  • You are willing to learn different tasks and process steps and can flexibly support production needs based on your training and competence.
  • You work accurately, follow quality standards, and consistently adhere to safety procedures and work instructions.
  • You communicate effectively with colleagues, provide clear handovers, and report issues or delays in a timely manner.
  • You have a practical mindset and actively contribute ideas to reduce waiting times, unnecessary inventory, setup losses, and rework.
  • You remain calm and adaptable when priorities or production requirements change.
  • You are willing to work in a flexible three-shift system.

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement. We value diverse experiences and perspectives and are excited to see what you bring to the role.
